Posàla:

To one who reveals the past
	— unperturbed,
		his doubts cut through — 
	who has gone to the beyond
	of all phenomena,
I've come with a question.
I ask the Sakyan about the knowledge 
of one devoid of perception of forms,
who has abandoned all the body,
			every body,
who sees, within & without,
	'There is nothing':
How is he
	to be led further on?

Tôn giả Po-sa-la:
Vị nói về quá khứ,
Bất động nghi hoặc đoạn,
Ðã đến bờ bên kia,
Con đến với câu hỏi
Hỏi về hết thảy pháp.

Với ai, sắc tưởng diệt,
Ðoạn tận hết thảy thân,
Nhìn thấy nội và ngoại,
Thật sự không có gì,
Con hỏi bậc Thích-ca,
Thế nào người như vậy,
Có thể bị dắt dẫn?

[The Buddha:]

Thế Tôn:

The Tathagata, knowing directly
	all stations of consciousness, 
knows for one stationed in them
	release
	& the steps leading there.

Knowing directly
the origin of nothingness
to be the fetter of delight,
one then sees there clearly.
That's his genuine knowledge — 
	the brahman who has lived
	to fulfillment.

Thế Tôn bèn đáp rằng:
Hỡi này Pô-sa-la,
Như Lai được thắng trí,
Tất cả nhờ thức trú,
Rõ biết vị an trú,
Giải thoát, đạt cứu cánh.

Biết được sự tác thành,
Thuộc về vô sở hữu,
Biết hỷ là kiết sử,
Do thắng tri như vậy,
Tại đấy, thấy như vậy,
Ðây là trí như thật,
Của vị Bà-la-môn,
Ðã thành tựu Phạm hạnh.
